Tales from the road!

Greetings Wickedee’s!

Here’s a story from Mitch, a wicked customer who recently experienced a roadtrip with us. Check it out!

” I flew from Adelaide to Cairns and picked up my Wicked van. As soon as I got in, I couldnt beleive how nice it was – electric windows, arm rests, cup holder, a/c and a nice warm bed…I was utterly stoked with it!

“Had some crazy nights in the middle of the jungle”

Spent a few nights around Palm Cove (just out of Cairns) with a few mates, visited Kuranda and Barron Falls – the awesome Botanic Gardens.

I then wanted to get away from touristy stuff…so I headed north to Cape Tribulation to visit a friend of ours. Went up the Bloomfield track through the rainforest into Cooktown, but ended up heading back an hanging around Cape Tribulation for the rest of my time. Had some crazy nights in the middle of the jungle going on foot treks, climbed Mt Sorrow…just had so many awesome missions in your van.

“Can’t beat the deal you guys offer!”

Can’t thank you guys enough for the awesome vehicle that allowed me to have one of the best trips I’ve had so far. Looking to go back to Cape Tribulation in September for a week or so and will probably get another wicked van, can’t beat the deal you guys offer!”

We’d like to thank Mitch for contributing such an awesome story. Plenty of goodies coming your way ;)

Wild Mob – Volunteers for Wilderness Conservation

03wildmobmtkosciuszko

Our friends over at Wild Mob have released information on two brand new projects for you guys to get involved with. Known for running conservation adventure trips in Queensland, Wild Mob focus on organising meaningful, inspiring and beneficial projects, thus improving the environment and the world around us.

Calling all explorers/those who relish the great outdoors…

Check this out:

“Keen to explore the Australian bush? Or maybe enjoy your very own secluded beach? Why not do both?

Spend a week living in the bush, assisting with an endangered Wallaby recovery plan. Then for a change of pace, in the second week, you’ll sail to a secluded island and help with ecosystem restoration and reef monitoring!

Be assured though, you’ll have plenty of time to explore these unique environments, too! You’ll get to snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, hike through the endangered Brigalow Belt or just relax under a tree with a book while the sun sets.

All you need to do is get yourself to the start point in Mackay, and we’ll take care of the rest”

Brampton Island Conservation Project

Assist Natural Resource Managers with conservation work on Brampton Island in the Whitsundays. The work includes eradicating invasive vegetation, beach clean up, conducting surveys on the coral reef and plenty of extra time to go snorkelling, swimming and hiking.

Avocet Conservation Project

Survey feral animals on the reserve by setting camera traps and monitoring for activity. Participants may assist with care and management of Bridled Nailtail Wallabies (seasonal availability) and general reserve maintenance. The project includes a nocturnal wildlife safari, extra time to go hiking and a visit to nearby Minerva Hills National Park and Mt Zamia.

Special Deal: $895

Dates: 25 May – 7 June

Duration: 14 days, 13 nights

Arrive/Depart: Mackay, QLD
