Tales from the road!

Greetings Wickedee’s!

Here’s a story from Mitch, a wicked customer who recently experienced a roadtrip with us. Check it out!

” I flew from Adelaide to Cairns and picked up my Wicked van. As soon as I got in, I couldnt beleive how nice it was – electric windows, arm rests, cup holder, a/c and a nice warm bed…I was utterly stoked with it!

“Had some crazy nights in the middle of the jungle”

Spent a few nights around Palm Cove (just out of Cairns) with a few mates, visited Kuranda and Barron Falls – the awesome Botanic Gardens.

I then wanted to get away from touristy stuff…so I headed north to Cape Tribulation to visit a friend of ours. Went up the Bloomfield track through the rainforest into Cooktown, but ended up heading back an hanging around Cape Tribulation for the rest of my time. Had some crazy nights in the middle of the jungle going on foot treks, climbed Mt Sorrow…just had so many awesome missions in your van.

“Can’t beat the deal you guys offer!”

Can’t thank you guys enough for the awesome vehicle that allowed me to have one of the best trips I’ve had so far. Looking to go back to Cape Tribulation in September for a week or so and will probably get another wicked van, can’t beat the deal you guys offer!”

We’d like to thank Mitch for contributing such an awesome story. Plenty of goodies coming your way ;)

Aussie Adventure in a van

11.03.2011

We rented a wicked van and travelled from Brisbane to byron bay and then byron bay to the sunshine coast. Our van was in great mechanical shape and we had no problems whatsoever with it. It was great for getting camp spots close to the beach and no need to pull down a tent or anything just pack up and go. I would suggest getting one of the vans with air conditioning otherwise it gets bloody hot. But we fit comfortably inside and had a great adventure to any number of amazing Australian beaches and points of interest.

A big thanks to wicked for an awesome time.

Wicked times in Europe

Here’s another story from a group of four backpackers, travelling through Spain and France.

Check it:

“The beginning.

Rising early in Barcelona was not an easy task. We were still tired from a 5am start the morning before. After getting a little lost in translation at Placa Catalanya Station, we met Stephanie (the Wicked representative) an hour late.

The van pick up was quick and easy, and we were soon on our way.

With rain spitting at the windscreen, we set off on a three-week road trip from Barcelona. Our vague plan is to head north-east up the coast of Catalonia, cross the French border and go as far north as Montpellier. After a few days by the Mediterranean, we plan to shoot across the Pyrenees to the south west French coast (Bay of Biscay) and then curl around the northern coast of Spain. We are leaving ourselves a day or two to find our way back to Barcelona where the van is due back on the 21 June.

We stocked our coolers at a local supermarket and then stopped for lunch at Carnet de Mar, a small town about 50 minutes out of Barcelona. The weather was still quite unpleasant so we made some sandwiches, briefly checked out the beach and continued driving.

We stopped an hour later at a town called Tossa de Mar. We went to a café to take advantage of its wifi and toilet facilities. Fortunately the weather cleared up at this stage so we could check out the beach.

The beach was set below an old fortress- quite beautiful. We messed about on the beach for about an hour and then hit the road, leaving the Tossa.

We drove for another hour and arrived in Aiguablava. We found a suitable stop a short way out of the town centre and parked the van, pitched the tent and cracked a beer.

We were bound to have an early night after our previous two mornings, so after a couple of beers we hit the hay.

To do list for tomorrow:

- Find an iPod cord for the van to play our music.
- Find a toilet for Heyze’s morning routine.
- Find internet so Whitey can skype PP.
- Find a rag for Macca.
- Find a pillow, blanket, clothing, underwear, socks, shoes for Wolf (he under-packed).
- Establish a name for the Van.”

Nice one for hitting us up guys, was a sweeeet story! You can also check the full story here.
