Dirt n Dust Festival in Julia Creek from 4th to 6th April 2008Julia Creek is located in North West Qld and comes alive once a year to Host the annual Dirt & Dust Festival . 2008 date is 4th-6th April. Friday kicks of with the arrival of the Townsville Chapter Harley Ride , a Mardi Gra & Street parade. Saturday is the core of the Festival which remains the triathlon, where athletes attend from all around australia and now the world . On the Saturday afternoon we host the Richest Horse Race in North West Qld, Entry is $10. This does not include The Red Claw & Beer Luncheon. Saturday Night than comes alive with one of the Biggest Bull rides in the Outback- PBR Touring Pro bull riding Series, AUSTRALIA'S Best Butt Compeition "Live on stage" , followed by live entertainment to take you into the night. Entry to Saturday night is $30 Adults. Kids & Pensionors FREE. Sunday is The Big Family day out- The morning is the start of a Junior Triathlon, followed by a BBQ and Novelty events- A mix of the laid-back country lifestyle, combined with the “give it a go” attitudes of locals, is incorporated into these events such as - fly-catching competitions, cow pat throwing competitions and the new event that kicked off this year is the Bog Snorkling Championships.
