Alice Springs Circuit DAY 1 Alice Springs to Uluru, Ayers Rock (440km, 5h 35m) Leave the Alice Springs Wicked depot (Shed 1, 45 Ghan Road, Ciccone, Alice Springs, NT) early on the first day of your convoy and head out south west towards Uluru and Ayers Rock, along the Stuart Highway and through Ghan. You will arrive in Uluru in the mid afternoon and be able to have a walk around the area, taking in the amazing sights of the red centre and watch the sunset over Ayers Rock. You will camp overnight at Uluru. DAY 2 Uluru to Kata Tjuta National Park (38km, 1h 5m) It would be advisable to get up before sunrise on the second day of your tour then you can see the sunrise up and over the magnificent Ayers Rocjavascript:submitbutton('save');k. Take in a few more sights around Uluru before making the short trip to world heritage listed Kata Tjuta in the afternoon of day two. Meet the traditional land owners of Kata Tjuta, the Anangu who will be able to teach about the surrounding area. The Anangu strongly believe that they are they are descendents of the beings who created the lands during Tjukurpa (the Creation Time) and they ask that you respect their beliefs and refer to them as the Anangu. You will camp overnight in Kata Tjuta National Park. DAY 3 Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon, Watarrka National Park (320km, 4h 20m) Leaving Kata Tjuta in the early morning of your third day, you will head back east on the Stuart Highway via Petermann and then up north towards Kings Canyon, situated in Watarrka National Park. The park encompasses the western end of the George Gill Range and is home to a variety of unique native flora and fauna, including over 600 different plant species. You will camp overnight in Watarrka National Park. DAY 4 Kings Canyon to Palm Valley (118km, 2h 30m) Spend the morning of day four continuing to explore the vast landscapes of Kings Canyon before heading towards Palm Valley in the early afternoon. Palm Valley is part of the Finke River National Park and is only 140km west of Alice Springs. As you enter Palm Valley through Cycad Gorge, you will immediately notice the striking plants and native ferns that cling to the rock faces and not to mention the crystal clear rock pools that gush with water after the rains. Keep an eye out for the breathtaking red Sturt desert rose. Spend the afternoon taking in the unique sights of Palm Valley before setting up camp for the night. DAY 5 Palm Valley to Alice Springs (125km, 2h 10m) The route you will follow on day six of your roadtrip is to head east on Namatjira Drive towards Alice Springs. Feel free to relax and soak up some more of the scenery in the Ranges before heading back to Alice Springs to return your van. Please ensure that your van is returned clean before 2.30pm.
