Perth to Broome West Coast Roadtrip
DAY 1
Cervantes is a small but prosperous fishing town. One of the main attractions neat Cervantes would have to be Nambung National Park which lies
just south of Cervantes. Nambung National Park is home to Western Australia’s Pinnacles.
Nambung National Park features beautiful beaches, coastal dune systems, shady groves of tuart trees and low heathland rich in flowering plants.
The vegetation bursts into flower from August to October, creating a memorable spectacle for visitors.
A turn-off to Kangaroo Point is 7.5 km from the park entrance.
A picnic shelter, gas barbecue and toilets are provided at this attractive site near the beach. To the north-west you can see Cervantes at Thirsty Point.
Out to sea are the Cervantes Islands. Here, the vegetation has been heavily pruned by the salty winds. Camp overnight in Cervantes.
DAY 2
Located about 450km north of the Capital, Perth, the city is perched near
beautiful coastline to the west and rolling hills and breakaway ranges to the east. The Chapman and Greenough Rivers frame the city to the north and south.
This superb positioning, combined with the friendly feel of a country town, makes for a truly memorable holiday experience. Camp overnight in Geraldton.
DAY 3
Monkey Mia is located on a unique section of World Heritage coastline only 30 minutes' drive northeast from the town of Denham.
It has a relaxed atmosphere and those who love nature will delight at the huge variety of animal and bird life found nearby.
Wonderful things started happening in the early 1960s, when a pod of bottlenosed dolphins began what has become a ritual.
Every day a number of dolphins swim into the clear shallows of the bay to interact with humans, delighting visitors with their intelligence and grace.
As the dolphins are wild, numbers and the exact time of their visit varies, however the usually visit the shore several times a day and more frequently
in the mornings. Camp overnight in Monkey Mia.
DAY 4

DAY 5
With an outstanding diversity of landscapes, seascapes, natural and man made attractions, Carnarvon has something for everyone.
The marine and bird life is second to none and the seafood and fresh fruit and vegetables are sumptuous. Camp overnight in Carnarvon.
DAY 6
Coral Bay is literally bursting with both marine and land wildlife, the town has so much to offer.
It's a tourism town, and so the hustle and bustle of city life is happily absent from the lifestyle here.
This may be boring to some, but for those of you willing to take such a risk, you will be richly rewarded.

DAY 7
Exmouth serves as a gateway to Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo Marine Park.
Cape Range National Park is located 40 kilometres south from Exmouth. It boasts spectacular gorges, an array of wildlife and wildflowers in season.
Four wheel drive tours depart from town. Ningaloo Marine Park protects one of the major fringing coral reefs in the world. Ningaloo Reef is Western
Australia's largest coral reef. It is home to approximately 250 species of coral and 520 species of fish. For a diver, there are few experiences that
can compare to swimming on Ningaloo Reef. Dolphins, dugongs, manta rays, huge cod and sharks are all in abundance. Excellent year round fishing and
beach weather, and boasting some of the worlds finest, most accessible coral reefs, have made Exmouth a popular tourist destination. Camp overnight

DAY 8
DAY 9
Nanutarra is a something and nothing town to be truthful. It has a large roadhouse where you can stay for the night but it would be wise to
purchase a couple of cartons (each) and dig in for the night. Camp overnight in Nanutarra.
DAY 10
Today, it is time to leave the comfort of the coastline and head a little further east into the outback of Western Australia to Tom Price. Nestled deep in the Hamersley Ranges, at the base of the beautiful Mt Nameless, is the town of Tom Price to the heart of Karijini country in the north of the State. Tom Price is a picturesque, modern and fully serviced town designed to blend into the natural environment. Tom Price is a Mecca for tourists during the warm, sunny winter months. With a variety of tourist attractions in the area.
DAY 11
Karijini National Park is one of Western Australia's largest national parks and arguably one of the most spectacular. Haunting in its rugged, red beauty and unbeatable for adventure, the park is famous for its sheer gorges, waterfalls and cool swimming holes. A visit to Karijini National Park is a must! The park has a system of excellent walk trails of varying levels, for the beginner to the adventurous, which will lead you deep into the subterranean gorges and through waterfalls where you can dive into sparkling rock pools.
DAY 12
Port Hedland is a natural deep anchorage port which, as well as being the main fuel and container receival point for the region, was seen as perfect for shipment of the iron ore being mined in the ranges located inland from the town. The ore is moved by railway lines from four major iron ore deposits to the east and south of Port Hedland area. Other major resource activities supported include the offshore natural gas fields, salt, manganese, and livestock. Camp overnight in Port Hedland.
DAY 13
For endless stretches of white sand lapping onto turquoise water and excellent fishing and bird watching, head to aptly named Eighty Mile Beach half way between Broome and Port Hedland. Here you can see magnificent sunsets over the Indian Ocean and enjoy the glorious solitude of sharing your slice of beach with no one. Camp overnight in Eighty Mile Beach.
DAY 14
This is sadly the last day of your west coast roadtrip. Please return your van to our Broome depot (31 Clementson Street, Broome, WA 6725) by 2pm. We hope that you have a safe and above all, Wicked, onward journey.
