Closer and closer and closer |

It was one of those humid mornings in Cairns as it rained most of the night. My dearest friend Maude and I walked with our huge backpacks on our backs, sweating like pigs, yet really anxious to pick-up our Wicked van. Once we arrived at the depot, there she was, our 1990 Toyota Campervan with the "wickedest" design on it. The lips! Man, was she good looking. After a good check-up, she became ours for one of the most adventurous weeks of my entire life.
It's important to let you know that Maude and I were really good friends before this week . but. most of this "friendly relationship" changed during the week when going through some rough times with "Kissey" our wicked lips! I didn't think I was going to survive living with the same person 24/7, but au contraire, the van brought us closer and closer and closer, until one night while camping in Cooya Beach, star gazing. it finally happened. The moment was just too intense for both of us, being DOWN UNDER, driving the wrong side and doing it for the first time together in a lovely van!
The best thing about this lovely van is that we were getting all of the attention wherever we went. From Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation, people would honk and waive to us while we were cruising listening to "Love Generation" for the XX time! (Only CD we had).
"Kissey" took us everywhere we wished and even if we had some tough mornings before getting her started, she always ended being on the road and road assistance only came once!
Overall, this has to be the highlight of my journey in Australia so far. Living the freedom, and driving this van so far really felt like a vacation! My new girlfriend and I will always remember "Kissey" and if we get married, this will be the van that brings us to church!
