"The Reach Out! Road Trip has been the most intense and amazing experience! So far our trip in the Wicked Campervans has taken us through countless peoples lives, young and old, city and country. They've definitely given us some 'street cred' and increased our cool factor massively! "

Wickedorama

Karim, my husband, and I recently booked a Wicked Van to drive from Melbourne to the 12 Apostles and back. We scored the bright, indigenous art inspired Wickedorama! Being skateboarders, we parked the van at every skate park along way to have a ride with the locals. We were lucky to meet with a small group of skateboarders on a similar journey to us at a few parks along the way and Karim got the chance to skate an awesome bowl with three of them - a risky and challenging stunt to pull off. We also got to fulfil a childhood dream of Karim''s - to surf at Bell''s Beach. Waking up in the van to a sunset and 4 ft swell at Bells was magic.

Our most surprising moment in the Wickedorama came during an evening drive through the city. We were waiting at a traffic light when quite a large group of Aboriginals spotted us and noisily approached the van with "hey Brother" greetings and gentle pats on the van. Sitting inside the van you can forget that you are sitting in what can be a provocative display of art or politics. The locals saw the Aboriginal flag and with that we were suddenly initiated into a new club. It was a very moving, if not slightly unnerving, experience. One fella was still clasping Karim''s hand well after the lights had turned green and the van had picked up some speed. We loved crusing along the coast in our van and it was fun spotting other Wicked vans along the way and knowing that we were part of another club - that of the great Aussie adventurer.
