Yandina Festival
Traveling down from Cairns me and the girls had 1 week in Brisbane, before moving on down south to Sydney. Despite planning to leave on the Monday when we booked our Wicked van we was told of a festival that was happening the weekend before our trip. With destiny obviously knocking on our door it took all of 2 seconds for us to extend our trip to include the festival. Friday afternoon came round and we picked up our Caterpillar van and headed north to a small yocal town called Yandina, we was so excited! When we arrived there was a wicked area set up and we were welcomed immediately to the fold. After some brief introductions with some fellow travelers the drinking and fun started. It wasn’t long before people were singing, dancing and having a ball and the festival hadn’t even started! Late that night the organizer of the event came down for some finishing touches and after a couple of beers asked if we wanted to come inside the festival before starting. Not only did we come inside but he let us drive a van in so we could have music. With the rain coming in we moved onto the stage which turned everyone into rock stars. There was more dancing, more drinking, more laughing and a hell of a lot of air guitar! Everything got a little hazey after the vodka shots, my next recollection was waking up in my comfy van feeling like Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz wondering if the last night was real or just some fantastic dream. As it turns out a lot of my fellow travelers stories seemed to match up and there was even photographic proof…I swear the handcuffs came with the van! Thanks Wicked for adding to my already wicked experience but most importantly making me feel like a rock star! |
