Cape Tribulation

In the ‘70’s it was a hippie outpost witha number of settlements, particularly at the infamous Cedar Bay, further north towards Cooktown. It’s not surprising as this stretch of the coast is incredibly beautiful. It’s one of the few places in Australia where the rainforest runs right down to the water.

Daintree Rainforest

Between the Daintree and Bloomfi eld Rivers, the forest slopes of Cape Tribulation National Park plunge to the waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, where fringing reefs grow almost to the seashore. The mystical lowland rainforest here is a rare survivor of 100 million years of climatic changes.
