Having failed to find anywhere free to park up in Kiama, the day coming to an end and a huge lightening storm moving over us we finally found the 'Little Blowhole' car park. parked up tight against the wall and reversing up to a bush with the back door open I managed to cook in the pissing rain and stay dry with a brilliant display over head. 2am I woke to the sound of a deep thud. Looking out the window I found that the sky had cleared, the moon was bright and the little blowhole was shooting water nearly 60ft into the air. I went down to watch the Northerly swell role in and was completely drenched by the spray. A night I'll never forget.
Our first night we pulled up at a beach just outside of Port Fairy (VIC) to stay the night. At 1am we woke up hearing voices outside. It was just us two girls inside the van so we panicked a little to see three surfers roll in, all drunk off their heads. They carried on outside for a while, one of them them was sick several times. Suddenly they started letting off fireworks next to the van then sped off in their car. Great first night boys, cheers for the fireworks display!
How about parking at a lovely Bounty beach, sun in the sky, no clouds anywhere, and being blown away by a gale wind withing 5 minutes, being forced to pack up and go, ending up on some dodgy mountain road, which in the end led to the greatest campsite ever somewhere in Kangaroo Valley where no European had gone before? :)
It was a trip I will never forget... and we miss Roxanne (our very rockin Wicked Camper)
At first when we first pulled up to the office in Melbourne to collect our van, we thought shit what have we done! but after a few days we just fell in love with the van. My husband is 6 ft tall and he had no problems sleeping and we had no problems doing anything in the van actually ;) The van didnt break down which was actually a big surprise for us because it did look like it would lol, we did over 6000 miles in the van and it didnt let us down once. We had a "wicked adventure" and wouldnt have done it any other way, we have a lot of respect for the "wicked camper vans" and we dont a bad word to say about it. Pulling up by the beach and waking up to the sun rise was excellent, we will post some photos on the website, we will post our story on the website too :)
Too many stories to say. Cant really be arsed typing anymore but sitting at Hat Head national park, over looking the ocean, lighting storm above, cold eski full of beer at the feet and listening to hottest 100 on JJJ. Definately going to pull the crew into a road trip on wicked every year. Really the best time.
