Terms and Conditions

Our standard rates include 150 kilometres per day for passenger vehicles (unless specified). The kilometres are cumulatively (i.e. 7-day hire of a passenger vehicle would give you 1050 kms of included use). For unlimited kilometres a charge of $20.00 extra per day can be added to the daily rate.

REQUIREMENTS

Driver's Licences

All full or provisional current Australian and overseas or international licences are accepted. Drivers are to be a minimum age of 18 years old.

Age of Hirer and Designated Drivers

Wicked Campers are available for hirers aged 18 and over who posses a valid driver's licence. This excludes Australian & New Zealand licence holders under the age of 21, unless authorized by the owner in writing. Please Note: A $20 Per Day Surcharge will apply to all hirers under the age of 21.

Payment

At time of rental please have your current drivers licence and credit card with you. We require the cost of the rental plus a pre-authorisation bond (depending on damage cover option chosen) for vehicles as a security bond. The hirer's credit card must authorise for this amount. The security bond is held as a security through the rental period and returned in full if no further charges apply (this is done automatically by your bank). We accept Visa, Bankcard, MasterCard and Eftpos. A 2.5% surcharge applies to all payments by Credit Card.

Cancellation Policy

Damn Cheap Car Rentals will charge a minimum cancellation fee of $100 if 7 or more days notice is provided prior to the day of collection. If less than 7 days notice is given or if you don't show on the day of rental the cancellation fee will be $250.

Cleaning Bond

For your hygiene and the hygiene of future hirers we charge a $100 Cleaning Bond to all hires. Please ensure that your van is returned CLEAN and unsoiled or this $100 Cleaning Bond will not be refunded.

INCLUSIONS AND EXTRA

Please Note: Damn Cheap Classic Cars are only permitted to travel within a 100km radius of the Pickup Depot, unless otherwise authorised.

Prohibited Areas & Road Restrictions

Damn Cheap Cars are only to be driven on sealed roads. Certain parts of Australia are designated as prohibited areas. Due to the remoteness and conditions of roads, these areas are unsafe to travel through and are prohibited at all times.

Totally Prohibited areas for 2WD vehicles include:

• Central West Australia bounded by the Great Northern, Eyre and Stuart Highways.
• Central Eastern Australia bounded by the Stuart, Barrier, Mitchell, Landsborough & Barkley Highways.
• Cape York & North of Cooktown, the Carpentaria Coast and Arnhem Land bounded by the Barkley & Stuart Highways.
• The Savannah Way.
• The Bloomfield Track.
• The Kimberlies – including the Gibb River Road - bounded by the Great Northern Highway.
• Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls in Kakadu National Park.
• Cape Leveque, the Bungle Bungles and the Lost City in Litchfield National Park.
• Any beach, sand or island (This includes Moreton Island and Fraser Island).
• Wicked Campers travelling into the Karijni National Park will incur a fixed fee of $150.00

Minimum hire, outback surcharge & one-way fees

Minimum hire periods apply and are subject to confirmation at time of booking. Other charges may apply and will be advised at the time of booking. All fees and charges are subject to change without notice at any time.

Terms and Conditions of Damage Cover

Damage cover is available subject to the terms of our Vehicle Rental Agreement. This means that we indemnify renters against loss and damage that renters sustain as a result of a single or multiple vehicle accident whilst a permitted driver is driving the rented Wicked vehicle. However, we will only do this if you have complied with the terms of our Vehicle Rental Agreement and you have paid the applicable amounts set out in the table below within the timeframes set out in our Vehicle Rental Agreement.

Theft, Fire and Break-In

Wicked Campers does not cover theft, fire or break-in – this is the responsibility of your travel insurer. In the event of fire or loss of property, Wicked Campers will only investigate vehicle fire claims that suggest it is at fault.

Options to Reduce Your Liability - Passenger Vehicles

All passenger vehicles come with full comprehensive insurance with a standard liability of $3,000 (18-21 years) or $2,200.00 (21 years +) in our standard rates. Please note: Conditions apply to Australian and NZ residents taking Liability Reduction B – See Below...

Standard Liability

The Standard Liability Cover option only covers the driver and any extra drivers. The driver is responsible for any tyres, windows or roof/underbody damage. A bond of $2,500 (18-21) or $2,000 (21+) will be taken on pick-up of vehicle with a liability of $3,000 (18-21) or $2,200 (21+) to be paid if vehicle is brought back damaged.

Liability Reduction A

For an extra $15 (18-21) or $10 (21+), the Liability Reduction A Cover option covers the driver and any extra drivers. The driver is responsible for any tyres, windows or roof/underbody damage. Liability Reduction A reduces the bond to $500 and will be taken on pick-up of vehicle with a liability of $1,000 to be paid if vehicle is brought back damaged.

Liability Reduction B

For an extra $25 (18-21) or $20 (21+), the Liability Reduction B Cover option covers the driver and any extra drivers. It also covers 2 x tyres, 1 x windscreen or roof/underbody damage (Coverage of roof/underbody is subject to a damage report) per hire. Liability Reduction B reduces the bond to just a credit card imprint with a liability of $100 to be paid if vehicle is brought back damaged. Please note: *Australian and New Zealand Residents of all ages are liable for $200 in the event of an incident – if they choose Liability Reduction B.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING EXCLUSIONS TO OUR DAMAGE COVER OPTIONS:

• Any damage incurred while the vehicle is stationery is not covered, unless there is another vehicle involved that has been identified and reported to the police.
• Reversing vehicles are not covered by Wicked Campers Damage Cover. Any damage incurred while reversing is to be at the hirers expense.
• If the hirer is permitted to swap vehicles, there will be no compensation offered for unused fuel.

Additional Driver

Only 1 extra Driver is permitted under all Liability Reduction Options.

These Options are subject to Terms & Conditions of Rental Agreement and will become null and void as cover in the event the Agreement is breached. This includes any incidents involving Dangerous Driving (eg. Speeding, Driving Pissed, Driving highways at night, falling asleep at the wheel or in the event of single-vehicle rollover, etc).

Recovery fees for breakdowns on unsealed roads are not covered

Rental Duration

Rental day period is 24 hours.

PLEASE NOTE: A short Hire fee will apply to hires under 14 Days for travel between 14th December 2011 and 14th January 2012.

Refunds

There are no refunds for early returns. Any change of plans including requests to extend must be notified to our office

Fuel

The fuel tank is empty when you pickup and can be dropped off empty. All Damn Cheap Cars require UNLEADED Fuel only – this should be stipulated on the fuel cap.

Repairs & Breakdowns

All Wicked campers have RACQ Membership, giving you the peace of mind of 24 hour roadside assistance. Please note that hirers will be liable for fees in the event of callouts involving human error – for example:

• Locked keys in the vehicle
• Flat Battery as a result of hirer negligence
• Tyre Change/s
• Use outside of contracted area of use, or damage caused by negligence

Excess Towing charges and recovery fees may also apply at the company's discretion. Recovery from unsealed roads will be at the hirers expense.

MAINTENANCE, SECURITY AND SAFETY

The driver and any authorised driver must:

1. maintain all of the Vehicle’s engine oils and engine coolant levels to Damn Cheap Car Rental’s Specifications;
2. fill the Vehicle with only the fuel type specified by Damn Cheap Car Rentals;
3. keep the Vehicle locked and the keys under the driver’s personal control at all times; and
4. comply with all applicable seat belt and child restraint laws.

The driver must not have repairs to the Vehicle carried out unless Damn Cheap Car Rentals authorises them to do so. Damn Cheap Car Rentals requires verification of the cost of repairs for reimbursement and GST purposes. You should obtain an original tax invoice/receipt to assist Damn Cheap Car Rentals. Damn Cheap Car Rentals will reimburse the driver for any repairs to the Vehicle authorised by it, provided that the cost of those repairs is verified. To the extent that Damn Cheap Car Rentals cannot verify the cost of repairs, Damn Cheap Car Rentals will not reimburse the driver.

Acknowledgement

The driver acknowledges and accepts by signing rental agreement on the booking that the vehicle is hired by them and they enter into this agreement directly with Damn Cheap Car Rentals.

Remote Location Drop Off

Remote location drop off conditions apply at Airlie Beach, Alice Springs, Broome, Byron Bay, Darwin, Hobart depots. Full payment prior to pickup is required for all remote depots. These depots are operated by third parties and have limited facilities. Cars dropped off at these locations must be cleaned internally and externally, have all crockery cleaned and ensure oil and water levels are correct. Cleaning and service fees of $100 will apply for campers not left in the required condition.

All other Wicked Depot Drop Off

The vehicle is to be returned in a clean condition or else a cleaning fee of $100 may apply.

Smoking

For your safety and personal comfort of future users we request that you do not smoke in the rear of our vehicles.

Limit of Liability

Subject to the terms of the Vehicle Rental Agreement, we will refund all moneys renters have paid if we are unable to supply a Damn Cheap vehicle at the commencement of the hire period, and we will refund the balance of all hire fees referrable to the remainder of any hire period in the event that any Damn Cheap vehicle hired to a renter suffers a mechanical failure rendering it unable to be driven or otherwise unsafe, provided always that any inability to supply or mechanical failure has not been caused or contributed to in any way by the renter. This is the full extent of our liability to you, and you agree to release and indemnify us in respect of any and all claims or causes of action you might otherwise have against us.

Important!

The renter is fully and personally liable for any loss or damage caused to a Wicked vehicle or to third-party property (including consequential loss or damage) if the terms of the Vehicle Rental Agreement are breached in anyway. You should read the Vehicle Rental Agreement for full details of what constitutes a breach. Without limiting the terms of the Vehicle Rental Agreement, a breach will arise if:

1. Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, wilful or reckless driving.
2. You drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
3. You drive on restricted roads.
4. The vehicle is immersed in water or damaged by saltwater.
5. Overhead or underbody damage the vehicle rental sustains.

All bookings are accepted subject to availability and subject to our right to refuse any rental in our sole and unfettered discretion. Wicked Campers accepts no liability or responsibility for damage to or loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle.

Unforseen Events

If your vehicle is unavailable overnight due to being held in a mechanical repair shop, you will be refunded for that nights hire. For all out of pocket expenses, we recommend you take the highest level of travel insurance.

Night time driving

Night time driving is not advisable on the highways - and is strictly forbidden in the outback, due to the high number of kangaroos and people falling asleep while driving.

Do not swerve for animals

If an animal runs out in front of you, apply the brakes, but do not swerve. If you hit the animal you may sustain damage. If you swerve, you will roll and definitely cause damage. You may even sustain serious personal injury.

Price Beat Guarantee

• Any competitor quote must be for the same or similar product type
• All competitor quotes must be received within 48hrs of your existing Wicked or Damn Cheap booking/quote and be for the same hire period
• Wicked & Damn Cheap Cars reserves the right to refuse any customer the price beat guarantee if:
• Vehicles are unavailable
• Competitor vehicles are unavailable
• The competitor quote is in anyway not comparable to the requested Wicked or Damn Cheap product
