Campervan Hire Alice Springs

Alice Springs, or the town that time forgot. There's definitely something odd about being in a completely land-locked place with thousands of km's of desert bordering the entire town. And it's effect manifests itself in various forms, both positive and negative. The Northern Territory and indeed Alice Springs has an enchanting natural beauty. To the west are the MacDonald Ranges and to the south, Uluru and the incredible Kata Tjuta National Park. Cross the border into South Australia and you'll discover insane, infinite salt pans and the mysterious Coober Pedy Opal town (seriously, fucking weird place). So if you're looking for a different kind of campervan rental adventure, then Alice Springs and the red centre is the place to see.

The Northern Territory is one of the most vibrant and exciting states in Australia. Consisting of 1.35 million square kilometres, its vast open spaces make up one sixth of the Australian continent. The Northern Territory can be divided into two distinct regions – the Top End and the Centre. Getting around this rugged playground is best on our campervan rental, where you will not miss a single landmark scheduled on your travel plan.

The Top End consists of the Territory’s capital, Darwin, and surrounding landscapes. Kakadu National Park offers a wide variety of flora and fauna, many Aboriginal paintings, and vast panoramas, escarpments and waterfalls. The Pine Creek region is noted for its historic buildings and museums, while the vast cattle surrounding Katherine offers nearby Katherine Gorge, the Cutta Cutta Caves and the Springvale Homestead as major attractions. The Wauchope region is noted for the colourful Murchison and Davenport Ranges and for the spectacular rock formations known as Devils Marbles.

The Centre combines the vigour of frontier life with the convenience of modern facilities at Alice Springs. The surrounding area is dotted with numerous scenic attractions ranging from the famous Ayers Rocks and the Olgas to the spectacular and colourful landforms of Finke Gorge, Ormiston Gorge, Simpsons Gap and Standley Chasm. Be sure to visit them all on your campervan roadtrip.

Discovering the scenic delights of the Northern Territory on our campervan from Alice Springs will remain permanently etched in your memory, with each centre location offering many recreational activities. Roadtrip Starting from Alice Springs

The Stuart, Arnhem, Kakadu, Victoria and Barkly highways are all weather roads, sealed for their entire length. Even so, any driving a camper van at night should be undertaken with care because of the danger from wildlife and cattle wandering accross the road. East of Darwin is Kakadu National Park, which is rich in natural and cultural heritage and this could be explored by our campervan rental Alice Springs.

South of Darwin is Katherine with its spectacular gorge, on the southern fringe of Arnhem Land. From Katherine, the Stuart Highway continues south to Alice Springs. The major town along the way is Tennant Creek, north of Devil's Marbles. Many people outside Australia think of Alice Springs as one of the most important towns in Australia. That is why our campervan depot in Alice Springs is here to assist you on your roadtrip in and out of Alice Springs.

Uluru or more known as Ayers Rock, is the world's biggest monolith. You should enjoy this magnificent wonder on your campervan roadtrip. The magnificent Kata Tjuta or The Olgas and, closer to the Alice, the prehistoric palms at Palm Valley, the dramatic Kings Canyon, and Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge in the West MacDonnell Ranges – all add their own character to the wonders you have to visit on your campervan holiday in Alice Springs.

One of the best way to see many of the tourist attractions in the Red Centre is to start from Alice Springs. You can take advantage of our cheap campervansand AWD options in Alice Springs. The Mereenie Loop Road route, links Alice Springs with Kings Canyon and Uluru, via the West MacDonnell Ranges, and Glen Helen. It allows most of the attractions to the west and south of Alice Springs to be incorporated in a circular route without major backtracking.

The Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve is only 3 kilometres north of Alice Springs. An interesting attraction to visit while on your campervan adventure in Alice Springs is the West MacDonnell National Park. At midday when the sunlight reaches the floor of the chasm, turning the walls a blazing red, it is a memorable sight. On the way, Simpsons Gap can be visited at the same time. And further east from Alice Springs on the Finke River, are Glen Helen and Ormiston gorges. Kings Canyon, 330 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs in Watarrka National Park, is one of the most interesting and scenic areas of the Centre.

East of Alice Springs in the East MacDonnell Ranges are Corroboree Rock. Thirty five kilometres south of Alice Springs are the ancient Ewaninga Rock Carvings or petroglyphs. A turning off the Stuart Highway about 140 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs leads to the Henbury meteorite craters which was believed to be formed several thousand years ago when a falling meteor broke into pieces and hit the earth. Most of these places require a 4WD, that is why you need to call us when you are planning to visit Alice Springs.
